Better known from a tourist point of view is the area near Mossman known as the Daintree. The Daintree National Park is divided into three main areas – Mossman Gorge, Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Cape Tribulation is the only place on earth where two World Heritage Areas stand side by side – the Wet Tropics and the Great Barrier Reef. Rainforest in this section of the park is estimated to be 140 million years old.
